MüWo - Munich weekend for international trainees from Germany
Hey everybody,

here some news from my life:

This weekend (28.07.-30.07.) the famous Munich weekend takes place. Therefore every international trainee from IAESTE all over Germany was invited to come to Munich and have 3 days of fun with us in the city and have the opportunity to explore Munich and get familiar witj bavarian habits and traditions.
For thoose, who don't know anything about IAESTE, here some informations.
It's an organisation, which exchanges technical students all over the world for practical experience. They offered me the opportunity to go to Estonia and do an internship in Tallinn, thanks IAESTE for that good time! And as I'm a member of the local comitee at my University in Freising, we take care for the trainees, who are coming to Germany. We have like around 15 at the moment. And we try to make there stay here with us, as good, exiting, intersting,...as we can. So we arrange trips, parties,...like people from ESN and IC did for me in Tallinn. Thank you guys for all that good events!
So I decided o go to Munich to help att his weekend on friday, together with Birgitta and Pia. They are our finish secretaries at the IAESTE-office in Freising and doing and internship here at IAESTE. For this day there was not so much to do, lucky us. We only had to do the check-in and prepare the picknick in the Beergarden "Aumeister". This one is a quite nice one, located at the north-end of the english garden in the middle of Munich. And in Beergardens here, you are allowed to bring your own food, you just have to buy the drincs (beer) there. So we made a lot of salads, had meat and cheese and bread. We expected 180 people to come, so we had a lot of work with that. After having dinner in the beergarden, our guests could divide in groups and go with some locals into the Munich nightlife! But Birgitta and I decided to go home, we had 1 hour trip back to Freising and we didn't sleep so much the last days...but it was a really good day!!!
The plans for saturday are: a sight-seeing tour through the city, trip to castle Nymphenburg, BBQ and a party in Studentenstadt (It's like a little quarter in Munich, where only dorms are. Really huge!!!) Hope they will enjoy this weekend, but I won't go there for this next events, because I will go to Augsburg (60 km west of Munich) today! One of my best friends, who actually lives in Canterbury in the UK, celebrates her 30th birthday at her parents place tonite! So this will be fun for sure and I will meet some old friends there. I will report about this in the next days.
So, have fun and take care
hugs and kisses
Astrid

Internatonal dinner in Freising!
Hey there,

as most of you know, that I'm a member of the IAETSE (like International club in TTÜ or ESN, just for trainees), we had our international dinner tonite. Ok, we only have like 12 trainees at the moment, but that's quite good for a small department like ours. But anyway, as you can imagine it's quite fun! At the moment we have trainees from Poland, Hong Kong, Turkey, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Denmark and Finland. So we had quite good food! And sure, good drinks!!!
But see the pictures...

So, my friends, have a lot of fun and take care!

See you soon,
Astrid

John was here!
Hey people,

yeah it's true, John was here for visiting me! Thank you John for coming to see me! It was great, I enjoyed it a lot!
For all who don't know, who John is: He is a californian guy, which I met in Tallinn. We had some great parties there ;)
And now, as his time in Estonia is over, he's traveling through Europe and visits friends! And so he and his friend Steve from the US came to see me!
I'm sorry, I don't have any pictures, but you can have a look at
"John's" or "Steve's blog" if you are interested in what we did!
For me it was real fun and I hope that many more of you come and visit me! Maybe for this years Oktoberfest in Munich in the middle of September?!?
Just let me know, everybody is welcome!
Have fun and enjoy the summer!!!
Hugs,
Astrid

Tallinn III.
Hey guys,

yeah, it's true, it's me and I'm still alive. I'm sad, but alive! Because of the soccer world cup, I didn't have any time to do something else, had to see nearly every match...and now, as Germany didn't come to the final I decided to do something good for me. So for abolishing sadness from my heart, I will go to Estonia for some days! I think, it's perfect now. There is õllesummer starting from today, one of the biggest music & beer festivals in Scandinavia. And the best thing, they show the last to matches there also. So I won't miss anything!
I really need to be at the sea and the beach in summer also once!!! Hope the weather stays like it is at the moment and we can have some beach-bbq-parties then. And I'm really looking forward to see the never-ending days and bright nights!

So, take care my friends!
People in Tallinn, see you at the weekend!

Cheers
Astrid
