A perfect day in the Alpes!
Yesterday, 18.03., I went on a trip to the mountains, which I missed a lot in Estonia. Really big mountains, not like in Estonia, only 318 m.
I just wanted to see mountains, so we didn't have a real plan, where to go to. After a little discussion with Frank, my flatmate, whom I did the trip with, about when you should start a trip to the Alpes, we were on the road at 10.00 am, finally! We drove to Schliersee at first, it's about 50 km south-east of Munich. Tha plan was to have breakfast there and then go further on to a place where we could go downhill-skiing. But the weather wasn't that good and we were not so hungry, so we drove on. It was so beautiful, the sun came out and after the fog went away, I had a brilliant view on the mountains! Amazing!!!
In a little village, Oberaudorf, we went for lunch. I had a bavarian specialty: Spanferkel with Knödel (suckling pig and dumpling). It was really yummi!
After that we went to Spitzingsee. And there was so much snow...I couldn't believe it. It's already march and there is still so much snow! Look at the pictures...
So, we decided to go skiing! And this was the best thing we could do! The snow was perfect for skiing and the weather also. Blue sky and sunshine! I think, it was made for me!!! It was just perfect! We had a break at a hut! There have been some sunchairs for relaxing in the sun in the snow! But unfortunately they were all taken. So we had our beer in the normal way! And it tasted sooooo good. After the ski lifts stopped their service, we decided to have some coffee and cake somewhere here! I had a Germknödel, it's a austrian sweet stuff, which is made out of yeast-dough, it has a plum-jam-filling and you eat custard with it! It's so brilliant! But I was so full after it, that we had to have a Schnaps! There they had a famous one, Wurzhüttngeist! It is served burning and it's really strong, but quite good!
After that we drove back home, but on the way back, we had the feeling, that we have to go on a apres-ski-party! But where?!?! So we had the idea to do it at home in our flat! Therefore we went shopping and bought some good beers and some Williams-Christ-Birne-Schnaps. It's made from pears and you have it quite a lot in connection with skiing. But it's only really good, if you have half of a pear in it! And for sure you have to have the right music for that. Normally it's some bavarian or austrian songs, very traditional and usual you know the lyrics, so that you can sing it! It was quite fun and in the end we were soooo drunk! But we have been successful, the Schnaps was nearly empty!!!
So, today is not the best day for me and i decided to spend it in my bed! The best idea I had today!!!

This was a really good trip, everthing was great and I had a lot of fun!
A perfect day in the Alpes!!!

Hope you have fun and stay tuned!
See you soon,
hugs and kisses

Back at University
For me now has started the "normal" life again. I have to go to University!
As I have already finished all the lectures and exams for my mastersdegree, I only (!) have to do the finalwork, the masterthesis! Therefore I started working at the chair of animal breeding here at my University. I will do some Genetics in connection with cattle! In case somebody is interested in details, just ask me and I will explain you some more facts about it! I hope it will be interesting and I will be successful in the end, which will be in autumn. But so far I can say, the team here I'm working with, they are all nice and lovely people, so far! Hope it will stay like that!

In Germany, at least in Bavaria it's still snowing and really, I would like to have spring now!!! But not for this weekend, I plan to go to the Alpes!!! To see real mountains!!! The big ones! And maybe I'm going there for downhill-skiing! Yeah, I would like to do it, but so far I haven't found my ski. Cross your fingers, that I will find them untill tomorrow!

Hope in Tallinn everything is okay and you will have a great party tonight, Katharina! I think of you and I will have some beers also ; ) just for you!!!
Have fun, take care and see you soon in Estonia

Prost,
Astrid

Everday life!
Hey,

nothing special happened to me in the last days!
I started working at the Munich Airport again. And it's like before I left to Estonia, nothing changed and I still don't like the morning-shift, starting from 5.00 am! That's not my time! The late-shift it's really better and not only, because the boss is not there then :)

In my flat, we are constantly having some gatherings in the evenings and therefore we are having some beers and now after I took "some" vodkas from Estonia, also some longdrinks and cocktails. Our new favorite is the "white russian". Hmmmm, yummi!!!
Here you can have a look at my little equipment:

Yesterday (sunday 12.03.) I was at my parents home in Munich, because my little brother had a birthday. He turned to 18! So we had a big party at home! With really a lot of food and drinks, as usual! In the evening, when I returned to my flat, I couldn't move anymore, as you can imagine! But it was so good, brilliant, excellent...
It was really good to see my parents, my sister, my brother, my grandma and some other people, but still, I want to come back to Tallinn! I miss you all!!! I have to save my money and buy a flight-ticket!!! Have to see you soon!

So, take care and stay tuned!!!

Here in Freising/Bavaria, we have really a lot of snow at the moment. 30 cm over night in front of our windows. And because of that it is quite warm, the snow is really heavy and a lot of trees brake down. But it looks quite good. My flatmate wanted to go by car today, but as you can see, it wasn't possible...

Take care,
Astrid

Back home!
Hey,

as I'm now back in Germany, I decided to go on with this HP here and to switch into English, that you can follow me for the next time and can be a part of my "exciting" life back home!
If there is something you would like to know or see, just let me know and write in my guestbook! I'm looking forward to hear from you!

Okay, let's start from the beginning!
Last Thursday at around 3, Risto picked me up and gave me a ride to the airport. I'm pretty sure that he was sorry for saying: Sure Astrid, I can give you a ride! No problem!, when he saw my luggage. Finally we managed to put everything into his little car! Then we picked up Kathi and then we went for my last ride through Tallinn! The Lady at the check-in was also not very happy, when she saw the weight of my suitcase. It was 40 kg! She told me, when I put it down to 32 kg, it would be ok! So I took all the bottles out and put them into my handluggage (had 4 pieces!) and left some stuff for Kathi. Then Kaarel came and I think he and Kathi had a lot of fun with me and my lot of stuff at the airport! Ok and then it was done, they send my suitcase away and I got my boarding pass. Thank you, Lufthansa!!!
And then the sad part of all this begun. I hate, saying goodbye!
In the plane to Frankfurt, I was sitting in between a choir from TTÜ on their way to SouthAfrica! Lot of fun with this guys!!! The flight from Frankfurt to Munich was without any incident and suddenly I was in Munich! Back home to my bavarian Kingdom!
I got my suitcase and stuffed with all my luggage I found my way to the arrival area to see if there was somebody to pick me up!
And there they stood with a big sign: Welcome Back, Astrid!
There were my parents (they told me, they wont come, because they wanted to go skiing to the alpes), my little sister and my friends Frank, Georg and Jampi. My Mum wanted to open a bottle of sparkling wine right away. But I decided to go home before and so I was at MY home back 15 min later. And then we started a little Welcome-Party. My sister has baked some cakes and we had some bavarian beers. Thank you, Frankie, for the Tegernseer! I love it! But like most of you recognized the last days, I was pretty ill and it got even worse that evening! So I went to bed at 3 in the night, but the others partied on in our flat! It was pretty good for me, that I went into my bed, by the way, I love my own bed, all the others had a really bad headache and hangover the next day! Hihihi
It was really good to see all this lovely people when I came home, I was really sad about leaving Estonia!

And now I have to clean up my room and put everything back into it. That's so much. I'm really thankfull, Alex, Frank and my parents already took everything from Munich back to Freising and up to the third floor! Thank you! But now it's a really mess here and I don't like cleaning up! So I hope, that there will be someone who will come and help me with that!

That's me in my bed and my big mess!!!

I haven't done so much so fare, because I'm really ill. Went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and told me to spend the weekend at home in the bed! Usually I would have been really happy about this opportunity, but I really wanted to see a lot of people here. Now I have to do it this week...will be exhausting, I guess!

Okay, my dears,
take care and stay tuned!
I hope to hear from you all soon.
Astrid

eure Astrid
